When the calendar is full and the head gets thinner
Being booked feels like being needed. It is not the same as being clear.
A full calendar looks like demand. Appointments mean someone is counting on you. The head can still get thin. Not dramatic. More like a tab that stays open though you stopped reading it long ago.
A lot of men don’t notice this on a burnout poster. They notice it on a train, when they couldn’t say what they are actually looking forward to. The week was full. The rest was downtime, not arrival.
Busyness is not a vital sign
If you only cut what is “unimportant”, you often keep the loud things. Friendships without a deadline drop first. Walks with no use. The call that doesn’t resolve anything.
A practical test: one hour a week that sits in no tool. No sport goal, no learning goal. If that seems impossible, discipline is not the problem. Then the week is stuffed with a kind of meaning that isn’t one.
